Welcome to the Qinghai Regong Art and Culture Foundation

China - Qinghai's - official foundation for Tibetan Cultural Art and Heritage
Regong Art Foundation

Tangka

Tangkas are an intergral part of the Tibetan Buddhism and culture. The Tangka is art from a living culture and customs that date back to over a thousand years.

With strict accordance to tradition the eyes are drawn on each diety and buddha on by the eminent Lama. Each Tangka is painted in accordance with strict guide lines using only natural elements. The Eminent Living Buddha recites sultras in accordance with the diety or Buddha that is on the Tangka thus emboding it its blessings and spirit of prayer. In Chinese and tradition this is known as "kai gang'.

All of the Tangka from the Regong Foundation are individually painted masterpieces and not mass produced. Each one is done by one of the 30 master painters and all are blessed. You cannot buy one or take one home, each Tangka is given to the individual and you invite it into your life. We ask that you support our foundation with its endeavor and with a donation and you will receive a Tangka from us.

The Tangka's size are 30cm wide by 45cm tall. The base material is made of hand woven silk and only natural elements are used for coloring. All works presented to our sponsors and supporters are recorded and are one of a kind. Each one is individually blessed by the Living Budda with your wishes in our heart and minds.

These are masterpieces and original as such are very rare. There are many imitations being sold or touted. Please contact us for an original from our foundation. The proceeds go to helping the Tibetans and our goals of spreading the heritage of Regong art.
